Friends of the Library Book Sale in Marion

The Friends of the Library will hold their Fall Book Sale at the Marion Library. Come shop for great books at bargain prices from November 13-15, from 10 to 5 on Thursday and Friday, and from 11 to 2 on Saturday.

11-13-14 The Friends of the Old Fort Library will be holding their 2nd Annual Handmade Christmas Ornament Sale as a fundraiser. Any individuals or groups that would like to contribute ornaments should turn them in by November 12th. The affordably priced ornaments will go on sale at the Friends meeting on Thursday, November 13th at 7:00 pm. 7:00 pm
11-18-14 The Friends of the Old Fort Library have chosen The Longest Ride by Nicholas Sparks for their next book talk on Tuesday, November 18th at 6:00 pm at Java Junction. Judy Josey will lead the interactive discussion. We have ordered several extra copies of the book, so call 668-7111 or 652-3858 to request a copy. 6:00 pm
10-31-14 Ms. Allison will be having a Halloween Party for children of all ages in the meeting room of the Marion Library on Friday, October 31 at 4:00 pm. There will be Halloween stories, crafts, and treats. Come in costume if you like! 4:00 pm
11-01-14 Gabriela Mendes Morales will be presenting a traditional Mexican Day of the Dead program at the Marion Library on Saturday, November 1st at 2:00 pm. Then at 3:00 pm, she will give a bi-lingual story time, telling “The Legend of the Crying Woman.” Don’t miss this opportunity for a fascinating multicultural experience for all ages. 2:00 pm & 3:00 pm
11-06-14 Our computer expert Steve Taylor will be teaching “Overdrive Basics” on Thursday, November 6th at 3:00 pm, which will walk you through the steps of using the Overdrive website (our e-book vendor) to browse the library’s e-book collection and then borrow, import, and read e-books on your device. Call 652-3858 to sign up, and be sure to bring your library card and your e-reader, tablet, or other mobile device to class with you. 3:00 pm
